Follow these steps on the camera.

Street photography

Quick setup from Q menu + dials
  1. Aperture f/5.6 to f/8.
  2. Auto ISO 125–6400.
  3. Minimum shutter 1/250.
  4. Film simulation Classic Chrome or Classic Neg.
  5. AF-C Zone or manual zone focus.

Portrait

Q menu + AF/MF SETTING
  1. Aperture f/2 or f/2.8.
  2. Turn Face/Eye Detection ON.
  3. Use Astia or Reala Ace.
  4. Focus on eye, then shoot several frames.

Landscape

Q menu + IMAGE QUALITY SETTING
  1. ISO 125.
  2. Aperture f/5.6 to f/8.
  3. Use DR200 or DR400 if sky is bright.
  4. Use Velvia for color or Provia for natural look.

Night

Q menu + SHOOTING SETTING
  1. Shoot RAW+JPEG.
  2. Use IBIS.
  3. Use exposure compensation -1/3 or -2/3 if lights are clipping.
  4. Use Acros for dramatic black and white night scenes.

Travel workflow

After shooting
  1. Import photos to your external-drive Lightroom folder.
  2. Keep RAW files.
  3. Export selected JPEGs for family albums or web.
  4. Back up before deleting cards.
