Part-02: Focus Menu: AF-S, AF-C, Eye Detection, Focus Area

Follow these steps on the camera.

Choose focus mode

Physical switch on left/front side of camera
  1. Set S for still subjects.
  2. Set C for moving subjects.
  3. Set M for manual focus or back-button focus style.

Set AF mode

MENU/OK → AF/MF SETTING → AF MODE
  1. Choose SINGLE POINT for precision.
  2. Choose ZONE for children, people walking, or street scenes.
  3. Choose WIDE/TRACKING only when you want the camera to decide the subject.

Turn on face/eye detection

MENU/OK → AF/MF SETTING → FACE/EYE DETECTION SETTING
  1. Turn FACE DETECTION ON.
  2. Choose EYE AUTO for portraits and family photos.
  3. Turn it OFF for landscapes, objects, or when the camera chooses the wrong face.

Move and resize focus point

Focus lever / joystick
  1. Move the focus lever to position the focus point.
  2. Rotate command dial to change focus box size.
  3. Press the focus lever to return the point to center.
