Part 5 - Advanced Scripts
20. Your Prompt Library and Responsible Use
Goal: Organise your best scripts and use AI honestly, safely and ethically.
You now have a toolkit. The last step is to keep your best scripts in one place - a simple document of labelled, reusable templates - so your skill compounds instead of resetting every time. That collection is your prompt library.
With power comes responsibility. Use AI honestly (do not pass off AI work as your own where that is against the rules), protect privacy (never paste passwords, other people's personal data or confidential material), and always verify before you rely on an answer. AI is an assistant that amplifies you - the judgement stays yours.
The Script (Template)
Keep a file: for each script note its NAME, WHAT IT'S FOR, the TEMPLATE, and a NOTE on what to check before trusting the output.
Worked Example
You write
Help me start a personal prompt library. Suggest 5 categories a student would reuse most, with a one-line example template for each.
AI replies (sample)
1. Summarise - 'Summarise the text below in [N] bullets for [audience].' 2. Explain - 'Explain [topic] to a [level] learner using one analogy.' 3. Improve writing - 'Rewrite the text below to be clearer and [tone], same meaning.' 4. Study - 'Make [N] quiz questions with answers from the notes below.' 5. Plan - 'Give a step-by-step plan to [goal] given [constraints].' Save these, then refine each as you learn what works for you.
Why it works
It turns the whole course into a starter library you keep and grow - the point of treating prompts as reusable scripts.
Do & Avoid
Tips
- Label each saved script with what it is for and what to verify.
- Never paste passwords, financial details or other people's private data.
- Follow your school's or workplace's rules on AI use; honesty first.
Common Mistakes
- Letting good prompts vanish in old chats instead of saving them.
- Sharing sensitive data with an AI tool without thinking.
- Presenting unverified AI output as fact, or as fully your own work when rules forbid it.
Practice
- Start a prompt library file with your five best scripts from this course.
- Write your own one-line 'responsible AI use' rule and stick to it.
My Practice — capture your own script
Write your own version of this lesson's script, run it in your AI chat, then paste the reply. Your work is saved on this device; use Download to keep a copy.
